GW-0742

GW-0742 is a PPAR-β agonist/antagonist, with function dependent on dose. In addition, it shows weak activity at several nuclear receptors.

It is antagonistic towards androgen receptors and VDR (Vitamin D Receptors). In silico modeling suggests that GW-0742 may also affect thyroid hormone receptors.

Studies have shown that GW-0742 can improve experimentally induced pancreatitis in mice. In addition, it has been observed to prevent hypertension in mice that have become obese from their diet. It is also being researched as a potential antidiabetic agent and has anti-inflammatory properties.
